Driving on my way to work yesterday, I observed a family in a car next to me in the traffic. I assumed it was the husband driving, wife in the passenger seat and two kids in the backseat. Now the husband looked very handsome, hair combed very stylish, cleaned shaved and from the upper-body I could see, he was dressed quite modern, but professional. His head was bobbing, swaying side-to-side, as if singing along to children’s music, making eye contact with his children in the rear-view mirror. Once of the kids was in a booster seat and I could see he really enjoyed himself, legs kicking, hands clapping and fixed his eyes on the direction of the mirror where his dad’s reflection came from. What a happy little family, I thought to myself – until I noticed next to the dad in the passenger seat, sat his wife, staring out window, slouched forward, no emotion on her face at all and obviously not in the mood to be entertained to early in the morning. I noticed her hair was in an untidy bun and she absolutely no make-up on – not that I expect all woman to wear make-up, but hey, glossy lips or rosie cheeks or just some colour to give your husband the idea you are awake and alive! Now, I don’t know if she was possible ill or going through something personal – it is only my opinion that was made absolutely no effort to enjoy the drive with her family and she was desperately longing for her bed.
I met my husband in 1988 when I was a shy 14 year old young girl and believe me, even at that age, it was love at first site. Growing up and old with him, after 24 years of marriage, I still only have eyes for him and still kind-of seek my husband’s compliments every morning.
Isn’t acknowledgement and compliments from our husband’s wonderful, ladies? Doesn’t it give us bounce in step and little boost of confidence for the day? Not that we’re looking for approval for our appearance, but that they still find us attractive. Almost all husbands wants their wives to look great and feel wonderful about themselves. I heard a saying once – if you look at a woman, you can see how her husband treats her. I agree to a point as I have seen some women just give up and let go of themselves after marriage and having children, but MOST of the time, I have noticed that when a husband is kind, gentle and loving towards his wife – they flourish.
We have been made in God’s image – He created a masterpiece! I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are Your works; my soul knows it very well. Ps 139:14
Ladies, don’t give up and don’t let go! You are loved!

You’re going to publish a post today. Don’t worry about how your blog looks. Don’t worry if you haven’t given it a name yet, or you’re feeling overwhelmed. Just click the “New Post” button, and tell us why you’re here.
Why do this?
The post can be short or long, a personal intro to your life or a bloggy mission statement, a manifesto for the future or a simple outline of your the types of things you hope to publish.
To help you get started, here are a few questions:
You’re not locked into any of this; one of the wonderful things about blogs is how they constantly evolve as we learn, grow, and interact with one another — but it’s good to know where and why you started, and articulating your goals may just give you a few other post ideas.
Can’t think how to get started? Just write the first thing that pops into your head. Anne Lamott, author of a book on writing we love, says that you need to give yourself permission to write a “crappy first draft”. Anne makes a great point — just start writing, and worry about editing it later.
When you’re ready to publish, give your post three to five tags that describe your blog’s focus — writing, photography, fiction, parenting, food, cars, movies, sports, whatever. These tags will help others who care about your topics find you in the Reader. Make sure one of the tags is “zerotohero,” so other new bloggers can find you, too.
